You may ask "Why the name 'Dad's Little Butterfly'?" There are two main reasons. First, I've come to understand and believe that God isn't someone who sits up in heaven on His big throne waiting for me to screw up so He can whack me on the head with His big stick. He isn't as I'd pictured Him to be.....distant, easily angered, controlling, etc. He is full of unconditional love, grace, and mercy. He loves me for who I am, the way I am, with all my mess included. That kind of love is extremely hard to find in this life. But nothing can ever change His love for me. So when in this site, I say "Dad', I'm referring to God, because He has promised to be a Father to the fatherless. He is my Dad.
Second, a caterpiller can often be seen as ugly and useless. There are many people who are seen the same way, and then some.....dirty, used, ugly, unwanted, alone. Just as God takes that caterpiller and makes him into a beautiful butterfly, God can take a life, yours and mine, and make something beautiful from the junk we've experienced. There's no junk too dirty for God to dig through and pull you out from. And you don't have to clean yourself up for God first. He takes you just as you are. We may be rejected by friends, family, and those around us. But we are never rejected by our Heavenly Father God, our Dad.
